John Jansen, formerly the founder and chairman of Deribit and a Bitcoin enthusiast, had been an options trader at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange since 1999. He first heard about Bitcoin in the summer of 2012, initially buying some and then trading it on multiple exchanges.
